Thursday afternoon we packed and were on the road to Frandy Park Campground for a weekend of fun at Kernville Kampout. Kernville Campout is an annual motorcycle ride hosted by Biltwell at the Kern River. It’s a weekend dedicated to riding motorcycles with your friends and having fun.
Summertime campouts: dusty boots and collecting branches for a cackling fire that usually is maintained until about 2am when everyone has had too many beers and too much whisky to care. We curl up in Mexican blankets on the sand and roast sausages with the hum of Credence Clearwater Revival or The Scorpions in the background.
Whether you’re searching for authentic olive jams or French lingerie, you’ll be able to find it while exploring the dozens of shops scattered throughout the alleyways of Old Town and along Promenade des Anglais. This is a great place to find local goods to bring home with you. It’s easy to get lost in the maze of shops here; look out for these so you don’t miss them.
If I could have Chinese take out every single night, I probably would. We’re always searching for new ways to make health, Asian inspired dinners. We try to incorporate as many veggies as possible at dinner time. Sometimes we have the stir fried veggies on their own, or serve over a bed of white rice or pan-fried lo mien noddles. Enjoy!
We love incorporating plant-based meals into our weekly routine. Sometimes it is so hard to find new ways to prepare fruits and veggies so we’ve compiled a list of bloggers who inspire us to eat green and skip meat for a day (as much as we love to BBQ!) For those of you that are vegan / vegetarian, these blogs are great resources to find new recipes that are specially prepared for you. Meat-eaters out there, get inspired by these blogs and try eating plant based for a day. You won’t regret it.
“On Sunday September 30th 2018, over 120,000 distinguished gentlefolk in over 650 cities worldwide will don their cravats, tustle their ties, press their tweed, and sit astride their classic and vintage styled motorcycles to raise funds and awareness for men’s health, specifically prostate cancer and men’s mental health.” The annual Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride is just three days away. There’s still time to register!
Every year, a dear friend gives us buckets of homegrown apples from her apple trees. She has too many to know what to do with any sends me home with grocery bags filled to the brim with little, crisp apples. We love this recipe because the whole house smells of warm apples and cinnamon by the time you’re finished. [Read more…] about Homemade Apple Cider
Mornings I love most : warm bath water, white towels, french press coffee, and nectarines. The bathroom drawers always seem to be filled with bath products for this reason. Here’s an inside look at our favorite Lush products.
It’s time for Iron and Resin’s annual Hooligan Hoedown. It’s a weekend of fun at Bandit Town with Hooligan Games, campfires, and good company. This event is rain or shine so come prepared (year before last year there was a torrential downpour on our ride home!)
Sipping pre-prohibition and prohibition era cocktails while listening to jazz music and having quiet conversation is something most bars lack in today’s world. If you’re looking for a modern speakeasy in San Diego – we’ve got you covered.
Step back into the past and enjoy a night filled with craft cocktails and good company. These locations are all intriguing in their own way and will give you a night to remember.
