There’s nothing more important than coming home to a space that allows you to decompress from your long day and relax. Let’s talk about how to make your space both practical and relaxing!
Step one is the least fun part of this process. It’s time to downsize.
- Toss the 2 foot long receipts on your vanity. The empty tubes of mascara. The random pieces of paper that are no longer relevant.
- Throw away or donate the t-shirts that are full of holes that you don’t wear anymore and the shoes you still have in your closet from 6th grade that haven’t seen sunlight in years.
- Condense the various trinkets and random items around your space. I’m sure you’ve got at least a few!
This takes time; it’s easy for the random, unnecessary items to accumulate. Before you know it, you’ve got a whole pile of unnecessary things that can go in the trash. Eliminating these things is a giant step towards refreshing your living space. Decluttering doesn’t mean taking everything and shoving it in a box under your bed for later — take the time to sort through it the first time.
Not the type to accumulate clutter? Great! You’re one step closer to having a clean, stress-free living space.
The options are endless…Go through your closet and color-coordinate your wardrobe. Re-arrange the kitchen to make it a more functional space to be in. We all have our own personal way we like to organize. Think of your space as a blank canvas and envision what the most practical way is to keep it clean.
There’s some stuff that we need (dish sponges, cleaning products, laundry hampers, etc.) They’re not usually items we like to deal with, but we need them. See if there’s a way to organize what you have and keep it in an easily accessible space that is also easy to keep tidy.
Are you the girl that dumps out the entire bin of workout clothes on the floor before you go to the gym because you can’t find that sports bra you like? Do you know that you use the same products every single day when you’re doing your makeup? Make your space practical by prioritizing where you have things. We all have those areas that are hard to keep clean– if you eliminate the issue by giving yourself a makeup tray on your vanity, for example, you’re more likely to be able to get to the things you need without making a mess
MAKE YOUR SPACE NICE TO LOOK AT:
It’s exciting finding an organizational tool that is pretty and functional. Invest in things that make it easier to keep your life together and that also make you happy. Spruce up your room with some new photos, some flowers on your night stand, or a pretty little trash can to put in the corner of the room where you can throw your wrappers instead of letting them float around your room.
We love this organizer! It would be perfect next to some green house plants and your favorite candle. It’s an aesthetically pleasing way to hide all those little items you need to put away.
We love these type of organizers because you can use them to store a variety of different things. Organize your makeup and bobby pins or put it on your desk with office supplies. It’s an easy way to maximize storage for small items.
Collapsible bins to save on space when not in use. This set has 5 heavy cardboards (include bottom side) support each side for every bin. They are lightweight and sturdy boxes perfect for organization.
